Michael + Raegen's Chilly Banff Elopement
There's a reason why Banff National Park is one of the most incredible parks in the world. The mountains, the trees, the lakes, the colors – everything Banff has to offer. We spent a full day together, basking in the sun which didn't stay out for us all day but it definitely made a few appearances. Although windy, these two braved the chilly weather to celebrate this new beginning. It was nothing short of magic.
Michael and Raegen shared the morning together before parting ways to prepare for their day together. They woke up and had the cutest PJ's and just took in all the last moments as fiancé's. It was truly so special. Raegen even surprised Michael with cookies she had made back home before they flew to Canada. Most of them made it on the plane ride, but they experience a few little bumps in the flight. After that, Michael was sent off to get ready in the woods while Raegen got her hair and makeup done in their hotel room.
Those few hours of getting ready felt like a whole different day for these two as Raegen walked behind Michael and tapped him on his shoulder. He quickly turned around to see his bride for the first time. Being a wedding photographer, Michael has seen a million first look moments, but it's a whole different experience when it's finally your own. The realities were starting to kick in and these two were finally getting married.
We hiked up the rock pile for their ceremony so they could truly be present with their surroundings and the beauty that Lake Moraine had to offer us. The vibrant turquoise waters and the mountains surrounding them were everything on that July day. It was a chilly mountain morning this day and it was windy while they snuggled up and shared their vows with one another.
Their lovely morning ceremony left them the entire day to do everything that they love together – eat and adventure. They had the entire day to just explore, ride canoes, dance and enjoy the day that they waited for and worked so hard to get to. Their day was everything they could have dreamed of and it was just the beginning for this new chapter in their life as husband and wife. I am so lucky to have been apart of it.
